SUMMARY:
Our Client based in Johannesburg is looking for an IC Workshop Foreman to ensure that best management practices are followed in all areas of responsibility regarding the Workshop - operations, procedures and actions.

POSITION INFO:

Qualification/Requirements

  • A Trade qualification (IC Forklift Technician) equivalent technical qualification
  • Proven and relevant experience and success in a similar position in the material handling or related industry; minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience in similar environment
  • A Trade Qualification IC Forklift technician or equivalent technical qualification Relevant experience in a Workshop / Technical Service environment
  • Code 8 driver''s licence

Responsibilities

  • Sound management of Workshop in line with budget and company strategic objectives (Work in progress, work scheduling, quality of work, quote accuracy, profitability of individual workshops and department, profitability of maintenance contracts etc)
  • Overall responsibility to ensure quality customer service of the Workshop, to ensure optimum response time and professional service always. (through the evaluation of technician’s, administrative and supervisory staff’s training needs and ensuring lack of knowledge / skills are addressed.)
  • Overall responsibility to manage Workshop Personnel. (Including performance monitoring, payroll information, weekly / monthly departmental meetings, managing leave and absenteeism, ensure effective internal communication).
  • Ensure regular feedback to the department staff keeping everyone up to date with company news, market trends and other relevant information
  • Customer Care – regular visits, dispute resolution, promotion of services and general relationship building with our customer base
  • Preparation and presentation of weekly, monthly and quarterly + ad hoc reports.
  • Overall responsibility to ensure the Workshop team follows administrative procedures correctly
  • Ensure that health and safety requirements are met premises and that all regulations are adhered to
  • Ensure workshops meet the ASEC requirements
  • Drive customer service excellence
  • Grow the Workshop in line with company requirements
  • Development and implementation of operational innovation
