Human Resources Practitioner (Randburg)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

vKnowledge of the LRA, BCEA and EEA.
vPrevious experience in an HR role.
vHuman Resources Degree/Diploma advantageous.
vGood interpersonal skills.
vStrong written and oral communication skills.
vMature Approach & Attention to detail.
vFlexible and able to multi task.
vAble to handle pressure.
vDiscreet and able to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities and Duties:

vEnsure that sound relationships are maintained between managers and employees.
vEnsure that managers are able to handle disciplinary and grievance matters through coaching & formal training & update them on developments in legislation & policies.
vProvide guidance and advice to staff and managers on operational ER related matters and respond to all queries within 24 hours.
vEnsure that disciplinary and grievance matters are handled within set time frames and in accordance with policies and procedures and facilitate the implementation of corrective action as a result of these.
vRepresent the organization at the CCMA.
vFacilitate the implementation of organizational changes (e.g. those following from industrial relations legislation etc).
vProvide an effective human resources consultancy service to line managers.
vIdentify and take steps to bring about improvements in HR areas.
vProvide training, coaching and guidance to managers on the implementation of performance management.
vEducate managers and staff on the company policies and procedures and ensure that all HR practices are fair, consistent and executed within the boundaries of relevant HR policies and procedures.

General:

vCo-ordinate letters of employment (contracts) and salary offers.
vPreparation of employee documentation.
vCompile and maintain monthly staff reports (appointments, resignations, terminations, dismissals, warnings, hearings, transfers and promotions).
vRecord keeping.  Conduct exit interviews.
vEmployee orientation and induction.  Employee services and counselling.
vAdvise employees on work matters, career development, personal problems and industrial matters.
vChairing and initiating disciplinary enquiries.
vCompilation and submission of statutory reporting.
vConstant review of internal policies and procedures and recommend changes when necessary.
vPlan, draft and implement ad hoc policies and procedures.
