Main Responsibilities / Outcomes:

  • Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems
  • Be actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting ads and managing the hiring process
  • Be actively involved with setting together and reviewing policies and procedures
  • Assist in identifying necessary training needs
  • Maintain employee records according to policy and legal requirements (hard copy file, electronic data)
  • Ensure that Performance Management is applied consistently and timeously
  • Ensure all statutory declarations and forms are completed and filed on time (EEA, WCA etc.)
  • Ensure monthly report and submissions are submitted on time (medical aid summaries, pension fund schedules etc.)
  • Monthly processing of Payroll related data is processed accurately and timeously on VIP Payroll and Sage Self Service.
  • Scheduling and minuting several committee meetings
  • Cultivate a stable work environment through driving employee relations solutions, guided by various legislation. Have proven experience in disciplinary procedure, grievance procedure, relationship management, conflict resolution, wage negotiations and CCMA.

Minimum requirements are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as an HR Officer or similar HR role
  • Excellent knowledge of various HR functions such as pay & benefits, recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, training & development etc.
  • Must have a strong understanding of dealing with Third Parties contacts such as Medical Aid and Pension Fund consultants
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude (solution driven)
  • Very strong ethical and reliability standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to work effectively in a team and/or independently
  • Should have a pro-active approach
