Food Processing Plant seeks a Human Resources Business Partner (IR Specialist)

to be responsible for partnering with and enabling line management to proactively identify and implement all HR initiatives relating to the full HR lifecycle, with the ultimate object of achieving operational objectives. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Group Human Resources Manager.

The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:

Minimum 3 years’ Bachelor’s Degree in HR (Industrial Psychology/Human Resources/Social Sciences/LLB)

3-5 years experience as HR Generalist across functions

Relevant BTech/Honours Degree in HR (Industrial Psychology/ Human Resources/ Social Sciences)

Intermediate Microsoft Office/ HR Systems is essential

Understanding of labour law and employment equity regulations.

HR administration skills.

Knowledge of human resources functions and best practices.

 

Industrial Relations and Labour Management

Facilitate end-to-end disciplinary processes in liaison with line management and represent the employer at CCMA on assigned cases.

Provide responsive and high-quality support, training, and advice to all parts of the business including line managers to ensure the appropriate management of all employee relations issues including in particular change management, grievances, poor performance, and disciplinary action.

Lead in the continued improvement of the health of the organization by monitoring performance indicators, such as absenteeism levels, grievances levels, disciplinary processes, employee wellbeing matters, development of initiatives and solutions.

Representation of the Company at external tribunals (e.g. CCMA, Labour court).

Coordinate union meetings with HR and Management and follow up on items raised.

Exposure in and processing of Retrenchments.

Facilitate and participate in the employee relations aspects of proposed changes in the organization.

Understanding of retrenchment legislation and procedure

 

Risk Management and Compliance           

Remain up to date with legislation and industry

Adhere to statutory regulations, policies, and procedures

Comply with work, standards, and methods

Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions

Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of organization standards, policies, and procedures as well as monitor implementation to ensure full compliance

Provide specialized technical /professional support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure the achievement of functional and organizational objectives.

Reporting

Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance

Obtain information, check for accuracy, and capture data

Collate and submit reports

Run data exceptions reports and take corrective action

Provide administrative support to the GHRM

Strategy         

Provide input into the development of the business plan

Provide input into an HR plan

Support business plan rollout and any forecasted impacts to plan

 

Financial Management        

Provide input and assist in compiling annual budgets and submit to line management for approval.

Assess expenditure and optimize cost efficiency.

 

HR Operational Plans          

Provide input into the functional HR plans

Implement operational action plans to meet the business needs.

Partner and support line managers to implement end-to-end people management processes and provide day-to-day operational support in the management thereof. (This includes and is not limited to talent acquisition, reward and recognition, development, performance-, talent- and change management, with expertise and a core focus on Industrial Relations).

Provide support and assist with implementation with human resources projects and long-term initiatives

Facilitate induction for all new staff and Managers

Support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships to ensure achievement of organizational goals

Provide specialized technical/professional support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organizational objectives

Facilitate and participate in the employee relations aspect of proposed changes in the organization

Provide support to line management concerning employee wellness programs.
