REQUIREMENTS:

• HC Management / Business Management or Industrial Psychology Degree or B Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology/Psychology and more as first preference and BCom Hons – HRM as second priority
• 5 years HC generalist experience in a unionized environment preferably at management level in a manufacturing environment.
• Excellent knowledge of LRA and other employment laws
• Computer literate and have strong administration skills
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent negotiation and consulting skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a unionized environment
• Confident, self-motivated professional who uses own initiative
• Good ability to grasp business issues
• Leadership skills with the sound ability in problem solving and conflict resolution.
• High ethical standards – morals and values
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix structure

Employee Relations

• Foster harmonious ER climate in the operation
• Ensure stakeholder management and partnering
  

Skills Development

• Ensure the plant human capital have the knowledge & skills required to assist the business
  achieve strategic goals

Data & Administration

• Oversee processes to ensure they are effectively managed
• Consistent application of HC policies, procedures & practices, in line with legislation

Talent Management

• Facilitate effective, attraction, selection and development and retention of employees
• Create and sustain an effective performance culture in the business

Data Analytics

• Effective analysis of available date to drive the business forward

CanDO Excellence

• Monitor team performance and progress against plan, taking corrective action where
  necessary.
• Provide feedback to team members and coach where necessary. Ensure unacceptable performance is dealt with effectively and timeously and that good performance is recognised.
• Facilitate and manage team meetings effectively, using Visual Management to discuss team performance. Encourage participation from all team members.
• Drive and encourage the team to apply the Foundation Practices, ensure adherence to standards and coach team in Foundation principles and practices.
• Contributing in the development and execution of divisional HC strategy and plans
• Providing a comprehensive HC Service to the operation on all aspects of people management including employee relations management
• Providing advisory support to line and in-depth understanding of all policies, procedures, Labour Legislation and related processes.
• Driving and implementing strategic human capital initiatives supporting the plant’s strategic business plans, including talent management
• Designing and driving the Employment Equity plans in line with the strategic business plan
• Influencing management decision positively through contributing, interpreting and analyzing relevant HC information and metrics.
• Providing leadership and effective day-to-day functioning of the HC Team
• Ensuring fair, consistent standards/disciplines within all departments of the business
