A family estate in Bryanston, Johannesburg, South Africa, require the appointment of a Professional House Manager/Chef to manage the household requirements as well as cooking.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Mature individual, male preference who is of high standards, ethics, integrity and is of sober and clean habits

• Fluent command of Setswana / Sotho and English in verbal and written communication

• Honest and Trustworthy individual with a pro-active mind set - no criminal record and clean, good contactable references essential. Be prepared to undergo credit/criminal checks if required

• Detail oriented with the ability to manage the entire smooth running of the home and family estate

• Excellent cooking / Chef skills of fine dining quality to prepare high class and varied meals

• Extensive experience in similar position within a private family residence with contactable references

• High level of experience in Butler, House Manager, Valet, Butler and Service positions

• Flexible and able to accommodate schedules when required

• Certificate Qualifications for Household or Hospitality Butler / Housekeeping / Cooking

• Valid Driver’s License and driving experience

Key Performance Areas:

Possible duties that may be required:

• Overseeing upkeep of table service for breakfast, lunch and evening meals; preparing dinging tables in accordance to the theme of the reception (formal, informal, buffet, family or silver service)

• Cooking of fine dining, varied and quality meals

• Prepare travel plans, itinerary and luggage

• Managing stock and supply operations

• Understanding and promoting household protocols among staff and guests

• Recruiting and training household staff

• Distribute tasks to other staff members

• Inviting and welcoming guests with eloquence and sophistication

• Serving food and beverage, ensuring proper service at all times

• Taking telephone calls and proper handling of correspondence

• Complete house schedule management

• Maintain the quality of the household
