Hotel General Manager : Transkei Coast

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a Hotel General Manager for a permanent vacancy (live-in) based on the Transkei Coast, Eastern Cape

POSITION INFO:

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• Matric with Post Graduate qualification advantageous
• 10+ years’ experience in the hotel industry, 5 of which must be hotel GM experience
• Experienced with hospitality computer systems, such as Apex & Knightsbridge
• OHS Act experience as well as hospitality industry standards and procedures
• This is a live – in position
• Ability to speak a foreign language would be beneficial

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Finance / admin – Maintain pricing & ensure acceptable GP achieved. Ensure debtors recovered, authorize transactions and creditor payments.  Interpret management reports and ensure budgets are achieved.  Monitor product, labour, food & beverage costs. 
• Operations, Guest Services – Ensure standards are implemented i.t.o cleanliness and maintenance. Look for ways to increase occupancy.  Meet with clients to plan details of functions.  Ensure front office effectively coordinated and resolve complaints.  Ensure F&B quality maintenance, checking of food quality and regular stock takes.
• Sales / Marketing – Increase Social Media awareness and answer all bookings queries timeously. Attend all local meetings and expos.  Prepare yearly Sales & Marketing strategy.  Liaise and network with tourism products/industries. Complete monthly reports and arrange grading council inspections.
• Staff management – time / attendance management and staff performance. Identify training, interview and hire applicants.  Handle disciplinary hearings.  Submit salary details to H/O.
• Health & Safety – Ensure Safety Officer completed with all procedures and emergency training and that all OHS act requirements are complied with.

Salary:  R20 000.00 pm (slightly negotiable) + live in
