Horticulturalist - Swaziland

SUMMARY:
A well-known Nature Reserve requires a resident Horticulturalist for a privately owned, newly established Game Reserve and Botanical Garden in Swaziland to Manage and establish a Botanical Garden.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Tertiary qualification in Horticulture is required.
• Previous Horticultural experience having worked and established gardens for African conservation plants.
• Pervious Botanical Garden Management experience is preferred.
• Have a good knowledge and understanding of propagation and seeding is essential.
• Must be conversant in recognition and naming of plants.
• Must be passionate about gardens, horticulture and seeding.
• The successful candidate should have good interactive people skills, as well as managing employees and projects.
• Must be willing to go on seed retrieval expeditions. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Manage and oversee all propagation.
• Manage and oversee nurseries, maintain Botanical African gardens such as wild flower gardens and trees etc.
• Assist with the maintenance of gardens and increase the flora of the gardens
• Manage a team of employees.
• Create and maintain the most unique Botanical Garden.
