Scope:                  Supervision at the heat-treatment Heat treatment furnaces.

Location:              East Rand

General description:

The supervision of the heat treatment furnaces station to ensure effective component flow to facilitate the assembly line. This includes the following:

1. Managing heat treatment personal (4 people) and inspectors (4 people) effectively with regards to attendance and work performance. 

2. Ensuring inspection and furnace equipment is working and verified/calibrated accordingly. 

3. Monthly stock taking of HT equipment and furnace furniture. To ensure spares in case of machine break-downs.

4. Sourcing and purchasing of heat treatment equipment, inspection equipment and consumables.

5. Weekly and monthly reporting on heat treatment through-put, re-works and calculating furnace efficiencies.

6. Quality inspection on carburizing and stainless steel (Micro Vickers hardness and microstructural evaluation). 

7. Ensuring company procedures and work instructions are followed at their respective heat treatment work stations.

8. Ensuring effective transition of work movement: planning of material to be heat treated; heat treatment through-put optimization and reduce redundant heating costs and insuring correct bin identification during batch movement.

Requirements and conditions:

• Candidates should come from a mechanical or metallurgical background. Some tertiary education will be advantageous.

• Sound understanding of Excel and Word computer packages.

• Candidate will be reporting to the Quality Manager.

• Salary R300 000 Negotiable
