Healthcare & Village Coordinator - Southern Suburbs

SUMMARY:
Our client based in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town seeks an experienced Healthcare & Village Coordinator

POSITION INFO:


REQUIREMENTS

• Registered Nurse qualification, SANC registered
• Experience in geriatrics, palliative care and dementia care, sub-acute, rehab, strokes, orthopedic, care for patients with IV therapy / chemotherapy

 
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the Healthcare Coordinator to screen sub-acute patients in hospital prior to admission
• Training and orientation of new staff
• Medication Management
• Daily clinic for village residents
• Homebased care for village residents
• Assist Shift Leaders on instruction from the Unit Manager in the healthcare as required
• Handover
• Administration
• Emergencies
• Annual visits to all village residents

 
Working Hours:
Mondays to Fridays from 07h00 until 17h00 - You will be required to be on standby one Saturday a month.
 
Skills and Attributes:
Strong interpersonal skills, professional communication, ability to work under pressure, managerial skills, making sound decisions, computer literate, professional, focused, fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English, compassion for the elderly, be able to converse with people on different levels - staff, families, MDT and other professionals coming into the facility
