Health and Safety Manager

SUMMARY:
The Health and Safety Manager will report directly to the General Manager

POSITION INFO:

Purpose of the Job:

• The Health and Safety Manager will report directly to the General Manager and will serve as a member of the Senior Management Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Enforce the Company’s ‘Code of Conduct’
• Hazard identification and risk assessment
• Incident investigation
• Work at Heights and Fall Arrest and Rescue Plan development
• Develop SHE (Safety Health & Environmental) Management Systems (Isometrix)
• Ensure Legal Compliance to all relevant and applicable Legislation
• Liaise with all Departments (Managers and Employees)
• Monitor and Audit SHE Safety Health & Environmental Management Systems
• Advise and maintain Legal Compliance
• Co-ordinate external Audits (Safety, Environmental & Risk Assessments (Fire)
• Attend Tender briefings

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Matric Certified
• Driver’s License Code 08 with own vehicle
• First Aid Level 1 will be advantageous
• Solid Computer Proficiency (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel)
• SAMTRAC/Occupational Health Safety and Environmental Management Qualification will be advantageous
• 5 – 10 years'' experience in Health Safety and Environmental environment
• I.S.O Accreditation is advantageous
• Understanding of (Cleaning, Hygiene, Pest Control) will be advantageous
• In-depth knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act No of 1993 and regulations
• Demonstrated understanding of Health and Safety Policies, Procedures, Instructions, Rules and Regulations (inclusive of Safety Training and Safety Information)
