POSITION INFO:

CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

The core purpose of the post is assisting the SHE manager in implementing and maintaining the Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental management system at Nelson Mandela University to ensure that there is a high level of compliance towards SHE legislations and other relevant requirements.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
SHE Governance; Incident Management; HSE Audits and Compliance; Staff Awareness Contract Management; Trusted Business Partner

• Leadership and strong interpersonal and negotiating skills. • Demonstrated good project management skills. • Proven strong analytical, conceptualizing and problem-solving skills. • Experience in writing reports. • Proven ability to manage and motivate team. • Experience in the strategic and innovative application of technology in operations. • Customer service orientation; and • Knowledge of the legislative and regulatory HSE Policies and Acts.
REQUIREMENTS
B degree or National Diploma in Environmental Science/Management and SAMTRAC and NEBOSH would be an added advantage 4-6 years’ experience in which competence has been gained
