Head of Logistics & Warehousing

SUMMARY:
A leader within the steel industry seeks to employ a Senior Manager / Head of Logistics & Warehousing

POSITION INFO:

Qualification

• Matric
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree: Supply Chain Management / Commerce/ Business Management / Logistics Specialisation
• Post Graduate qualification in Supply Chain management / Lean or Six Sigma is Preferred

 Requirements

• Proven Management experience within the Steel Industry
• Minimum of 5 years with significant exposure to Transportation and Warehousing operations of which 3 or more in Management / Leadership capacity
• Deep understanding of best practices in Logistics/Warehousing Management
• Tech-Savvy and willing to learn the latest tools that can help improve Logistics/Warehousing processes

 Duties

• Travel and oversee all sites (Durban, PMB, Richards Bay)
• Oversee daily logistics and warehouse operations
• Leading of teams for all sites
• Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison and evaluation of factors affecting performance
• Meet financial objectives
• Lead supplier relationship management for logistics service providers
• Develop and implement SOPs and SLAs
• Lead and oversee all ISO management system implementation, compliance and certification for the business
• Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes and operations
• Management of costs and development of cost saving initiatives
• Upskilling, coaching, development and motivation of all operational staff
• Customer satisfaction
