Head of IT - Randburg

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The successful candidate will report to the CEO and work closely with the other department heads. The IT department currently consists of 12 staff which includes helpdesk and desktop support, system/network administrators and developers, all of whom will report to the Head of IT with the developers having a dotted line reporting to the IT Director.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

vLead medium sized IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and infrastructure;

vMonitor performance of information technology systems to determine efficiencies, cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure;

vHelp define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture and processes;

vAnalyse business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organisation and externally to develop solutions for IT needs;

vAssess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software;

vOngoing assessment of telco providers in terms of quality of service and related cost;

vMaintain internal ticket SLA adherence and optimize general call centre support;

vDefine and manage cyber security compliance in accordance with our client’s and our business requirements as well as annual cybersecurity audits;

vMaintain and improve existing IT corporate governance procedures;

vCreate and manage all IT budgets;

vPerformance Management and provide direction and leadership developing IT staff;

vDevelop and implement business continuity protocols to reduce disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss;

vSchedule, organise and assign projects to members in the IT team. Ensure tasks are completed as per the business requirements.

Skills and Requirements:

Ø5 years IT management experience;

ØCCNA and MCSA or equivalent Network Integration/Technical Diploma required;

ØAdvanced knowledge and Experience with Networking concepts: TCP/IP, QoS, Firewalls and VPN as well as current data security and encryption protocols essential;

ØAdvance knowledge and experience in Server Management, licensing, VMware and Hyper-V, Windows 2012+, Linux environments consisting of SQL Servers and related Microsoft technologies;

ØA good high-level understanding of Web related Technologies;

ØSmart and logical with a solid understanding of and experience applying critical reasoning to solve problems;

ØExcellent oral and written communication skills and be able to present ideas to stakeholders using modern digital communications;

ØOrganisational and planning skills essential with solid interpersonal and team skill;

ØMust be able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment;

ØAbility to analyse problems, identify alternative solutions, and implement recommendations;

ØExperience with Helpdesk Processes and related technologies;

ØPrevious experience in managing IT infrastructure and support in a BPO or Call Centre would be an advantage;

ØExposure to Asterisk advantageous;

ØGood understanding of backups and online solutions;

ØExposure and experience with cloud services an advantage.
