Head of Finance

Our Client a well-established National Recycling Network URGENTLY seeks to appoint a highly competent professional Accountant for their Head of Finance role based in Midrand, Johannesburg - R575K – R600K

THE MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE

• Report directly into the Group Executive Director.
• Ensure execution of the strategic direction, business structure, financial management and control of the Group, thereby achieving the vision of creating a vibrant and sustainable recycling operation.
• Assure responsibility for the full financial and management accounting of the National Network. 

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum B.Com Accounting or Financial Management
• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in an accounting role
• Minimum  3 years’ experience in a management role
• Audit experience and multiple entity reporting
• Strong understanding and ability to implement IFRS
• Sound working knowledge of Government Acts and Regulations pertaining to, Basic Conditions of Employment, Non-Profit Company requirements, VAT and other Remuneration related legislation.
• Thorough understanding and experience in the financial management of a Non-Profit Company
• Unquestionable Integrity
• Must be a team player who is results-driven with an ability to take initiative
• Confident to work with minimal guidance and assistance
• Ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
• Sound multi-level communication skills.
• Energetic self-starter with good organizational skills
• Excellent Computer Skills, including Payroll and accounting packages.

• Asset Management

• Asset controls and clean-ups
• Banking
• Full Function Banking, from acting as Administrator for the platform to releasing all payments
• Prepare for and Interface with External Auditors as the main point of contact
• Full Payroll Function and Personnel Administration
• Advise staff in areas of compensation, health care benefits, subsistence and travel, tax implications, and retirement scheme
• Processing and payment of Payroll
• Statutory recons and returns
• Staff Loans
• Manage Foreign Exchange for international travel
• Ensure financial compliance with all legislation
• VAT
• General
• Annual Returns
• CIPC Updates
• Workmen’s Compensation Renewal
• Insurance
• Petty Cash
• Financial Management
• Maintain accounting controls through policies and procedures
• Guide accounting clerical staff
• Secures financial information by completing database backups
• Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge
