National ISP Leader is recruitng for a Head of Fibre

POSITION INFO:

HEAD OF FIBRE

STELLENBOSCH

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Responsible for heading up the function of fibre civil works.

• This includes developing, implementing engineering standards and a quality management system for companies national fibre network deployment projects, including road construction, surfacing and reconstruction.

Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

Standards

• Establish engineering standards as well as testing thereof
• Work with and align the regional project teams to the standards
• Develop training and train the teams on the relevant standards
• Drive the continuous improvement of standards and cost to reduce the effective Cost-per-stand without dropping quality

Monitoring and quality assurance

• Establish a civil works quality management system nationally
• Implement and monitor the quality management system
• Report on quality and standards

Stakeholder management

• Liaise with local authorities to limit disruptions relating to project delays and stoppages
• Manage the main contractors in terms of national supplier criteria, standards, and quality assurance
• Work collaboratively with Regional Growth Managers, Project Managers, and site teams.

The successful candidate must have the following experience/skills: -

• Civil engineering design and project certification is essential to this role

• Leadership
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail
• Training/facilitation and coaching skills
• 10 years post qualification Civil Engineer experience, including experience on roads projects is preferred

Qualifications

• Matric
• Bsc/BEng or BTech in Civil Engineering qualification is advantageous
• Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer is advantageous
