Hardware Sales Representative

Johannesburg

Salary R15 000 plus commission, Fuel and cellphone

Duration: One year contract with a possibility of renewal

Products: Various industrial and manufacturing consumable

As the Hardware Sales Representative, you will be responsible for product and sales growth in the Hardware store environment in South Africa. 

We are looking for a self-motivated, “hands-on”, highly energetic individual, who is able to connect well with customers and sell products in a difficult and well traded environment. The sales person will need to convince customers to buy products they do not know they need yet. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Co-ordination of enquiries and deliveries 
• Taking calls from customers and recommending appropriate products 
• Quoting prices to customers off published price lists 
• Co-ordinating problem resolutions on a day-to day basis 
• Relationship building with customers 
• Completing various reports 
• Completing administration requirements and paperwork 

Qualifications and parameters: 

• Previous sales experience in is an advantage 
• Proven ability in a difficult sales environment 
• Must be able to read and write at an advanced level in English and communicate well in Afrikaans 
• Excellent communication skills 
• Ability to learn and adapt on the job 
• Good arithmetic skills – will perform calculations in excel 

Performance measurement: 

• Weighted annual percentage growth in sales in hardware
