Summary Statement: (Reason why job exists)

The QA Manager will manage HSE & Quality risk across the business, to ensure HSE & product compliance to specifications and systems compliance to relevant protocols.

Key Performance Areas: (Essential Duties & Responsibilities)

To perform this job successfully, the appointed individual must be able to perform each essential duty/key performance area satisfactorily. This list of key performance areas is not exhaustive and may be changed/ supplemented to accommodate business needs from time to time:

  • Overall responsibility for ensuring compliance to legal, corporate & principles standards, requirements, and certifications, of;
    • Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act),
    • All environmental laws and regulations
    • ISO 9001:2015
    • ISO 14001:2015
    • Principle Quality standards (ExxonMobil QP&G)
    • Principles Operating standards (3PIMS)
  • Responsible for preparing Integrated Management System (IMS) performance reports: Collate, analyse, and trend QA information; Non-conformance reports; Process failures; Continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct internal audits and co-ordinate continuous improvement programs within the organization:

-        Conduct gap assessments and ensure efficient tracking of action items to closure.

-       Co-ordinate external audits and do internal audits (3PIM, ISO 9001 and ISO 1400)

  • Ensure product conformance is achieved by adhering to product safety and quality requirements and demonstrate compliance status with and through a Documented Management System.
  • Overall responsibility to ensure Quality of Manufacturing Process against stringent Principles requirements, including Customer Specific Requirements (CSR), 3PIM and DPIM system.
  • Responsible for overseeing the Inventory Management Process, adhere to and uphold Departmental Strategies for appropriate Inventory Levels, eliminating obsolete and off-spec Material and Reduce aging Material:

-       Production and Maintenance

-       Quality, Health and Safety

  • Motivate, Organize and Encourage teamwork within the team.
  • Facilitate Original Equipment Manufacturing visits, negotiations, and relationship management.
  • Ability to Develop and Implement Operational Innovation and continuous Improvement.

  • Mathematics — Knowledge of Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Calculus, Statistics, and their Applications
  • Proficient in standard Business Office Software and ERP systems.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills Education/ Training and Experience Requirement(s):

  1. Educational background

BSc degree Chemistry B. Tech, MTech, or equivalent

Master’s in Chemistry advantageous

  1. Experience (years and nature)

At least 5 to 10 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment

Petrochemical industry experience advantageous

The successful candidate will be familiar with:

- ISO 9001 and 1400 systems implementation.

- Knowledge and experience in managing a lubricants testing laboratory and quality assurance protocols.

- Quality investigations, root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives

- Experience of XOM 3PIM & DPIM and QP&G will be advantageous.
