HSE Coordinator

SUMMARY:

My client is seeking a QHSE Coordinator to Lead and Manage HSE at both operational and management levels and be responsible for provision of a safe and secure working environment for employees, contractors and visitors by establishing and enforcing Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, as per OHS Act, NEMA Act, company HSE Key Requirements, ISO 45001, ISO 4001 and Responsible care management systems including maintenance thereof. Ensure that the hazardous waste incinerator operates within the Atmospheric Emission License (AEL) conditions at all times including liaising with licensing authorities. This position is based in NIGEL.

POSITION INFO:

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Safety/Health or Equivalent
  Knowledge of Legal requirements (Country Legislation) Or
• Bachelors or Post Graduate Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Agronomy or Equivalent) Or
• Chemical Engineering Degree with solid Chemical Industry Experience
• Minimum of 10 years’ working experience of which 5 years were hands on at both operational and management levels as a HSE Co-ordinator or Manager in a Chemical Plant
• SAMTRAC or Risk Management Qualification, or International General Certificate (IGC) in Health and Safety, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment, Incident Investigation,
• Responsible Care knowledge, Sound working knowledge of Global Harmonized System Labelling of Chemicals would be advantageous.
• Computer literate, Microsoft packages including word, excel, PowerPoint and good presenting skills.
• Be active, energetic, challenger of status quo, innovative, initiatives taker, self-starter, confident and be able work with minimum supervision.
• Be able to work and handle pressure during audits, incidents and government inspections
• Sound and working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and its regulations and environmental legislation.
