A dynamic and rapidly growing group operating within the fuel logistics and commercial refuelling sector is seeking an experienced and people-centred Human Resources Manager to take full ownership of the HR function across the business and its subsidiaries.
This is a standalone senior HR role suited to a strong generalist who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment and is passionate about building a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership to drive HR strategy, employee engagement, compliance, performance management, payroll administration, and organisational development across a group of approximately 65 employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from sourcing to appointment
- Draft job specifications and manage recruitment pipelines
- Conduct interviews and coordinate assessments
- Facilitate onboarding and induction processes
Performance Management & Development- Implement and manage performance review processes
- Coordinate training, development, and upskilling initiatives
- Manage Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) submissions
- Support succession planning and employee growth initiatives
Employee Relations & Labour Compliance- Manage disciplinary processes, grievances, and investigations
- Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation
- Facilitate conflict resolution and employee engagement initiatives
- Maintain accurate disciplinary and employee records
Payroll & HR Administration- Process monthly payroll and payroll-related administration
- Manage leave, contracts, employee records, and HR reporting
- Liaise with finance regarding payroll reconciliations and statutory compliance
HR Policies, Compliance & Culture- Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures
- Drive Employment Equity and BBBEE initiatives
- Maintain HR compliance across the business
- Play a key role in strengthening company culture, communication, and employee morale
Job Experience and Skills Required:Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, or related field
Honours Degree advantageous
Additional qualifications in Labour Law, Payroll, or BBBEE advantageous
Minimum 10 years’ practical HR experience
Proven experience managing a standalone HR function
Strong payroll experience (VIP/Sage advantageous)
Experience with WSP/ATR submissions and SETA engagement
Sound knowledge of BCEA, LRA, EEA, SDA, and related legislation
