SUMMARY:
HR/IR MANAGER - Bloemfontein
R25 000 minimum
Overall Purpose of the Job: Guide and advise business leaders’ management and staff in labour relations matters within the organisation whilst ensuring compliance to labour legislation.
POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant Degree/Diploma in HR, Industrial Relations, Labour Relations or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant Employee Relations/Industrial Relations experience
- At least 2 years’ experience within a unionised environment
- Proven experience handling CCMA/Bargaining Council conciliations and arbitrations, with a successful track record
- Strong experience in union engagement, wage negotiations, grievances and disciplinary matters
- Sound knowledge of LRA, BCEA, EE legislation and labour relations practices
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Word and Excel
- Own reliable vehicle and willingness to travel
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all Employee Relations and Industrial Relations matters across the business
- Handle CCMA/Bargaining Council cases, including conciliations, arbitrations and related legal documentation
- Manage union relationships, negotiations, consultations and correspondence
- Advise management and HR on disciplinary procedures, grievances, appeals and labour legislation
- Manage retrenchments, restructuring and consultation processes
- Chair disciplinary and grievance hearings where required
- Manage and support Labour Court and Labour Appeal Court matters in conjunction with external attorneys
- Monitor and manage labour unrest, strikes and union activity
- Conduct ER/IR training and employee engagement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with relevant labour legislation, company policies and governance requirements
- Compile and manage monthly, weekly and ad-hoc ER/HR reports and statistics
- Identify labour relations trends and recommend appropriate interventions
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, management, employees, unions and external legal advisors
- Provide expert advice on BCEA, LRA, EE and general labour relations matters
- Identify and mitigate ER/legal risks and drive continuous process improvement
