SUMMARY:
An experienced HR Officer/Administrator is sought to independently manage contracts, staff hours, and disciplinary processes for a 100-person retail team, while providing sound labour law guidance to the business.

POSITION INFO:
Location: Thornton, Cape Town
Salary: R 20 000 - R 30 000
Industry: Food Manufacturing & Retail
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Requirements:

3–5 years' HR experience, ideally within a retail or similar high-headcount environment
Sound working knowledge of labour law, with the ability to provide input and guidance
Experience managing HR functions for a staff complement of around 100 employees
Ability to work independently and take ownership of the HR function
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Confident handling disciplinary processes and difficult conversations

Key Responsibilities:

Draw up and manage staff contracts
Manage staff hours, scales, and payment processes
Handle disciplinary processes from start to finish
Provide input and guidance on labour law matters
Liaise with and manage HR-related matters for floor staff
Address and resolve recurring weekly staff/operational matters
Act as the first point of contact for general HR queries across the business
