Summary: Purpose of the Job: • Ensure the co-ordination of key HR system elements such as training and development, Recruitment & Selection, Performance Management, Work Environment, Employee Relations and Administration to enable individual performance.



Job Description

Key Performance Areas:

  • Co-ordinate the sourcing, delivery and evaluation of training to approved plan
  • Maintain all training information required for annual WSP and ATR submissions.
  • Attraction: advertisements for vacancies or contact recruitment agents
  • Interview candidates with managers (up until certain level position)
  • Summarise feedback for management meeting
  • Administer culture surveys and identify improvement initiatives
  • Handling day to day employee issues
  • Set up agendas and dates for monthly meetings (union management / workplace forum)
  • Consult and advise management and staff on labour relations issues
  • Represent company at CCMA (Conciliation & Arbitration)
  • Facilitate disciplinary hearings and prepare minutes and documentation
  • Consultation with staff
  • Record keeping & filing of all HR-related information according to checklist
  • Handling of confirmation of employment requests
  • Ensure Job Descriptions in place and up to date
  • Ensure policies reviewed timeously and available to staff
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety and quality standards

Education, experience and competencies required:

  • 3-year degree in IR or HR related field is a prerequisite
  • 3 years’ experience in HR
  • 2 years’ exposure to manufacturing
  • Experience in industrial relations, labour law, CCMA, disciplinary enquiries, handling of disputes, grievances, union interaction, negotiations, HR systems, payroll systems & policy and budget management.
