HR Officer (MEIBC)

SUMMARY:
We are urgently looking to employ a HR Officer for an international Engineering Construction concern based in Elandsfontein, Johannesburg

POSITION INFO:

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The HR Officer provides support to the HR Manager in the areas of general office and administration support to the HR department and dealing with HR related queries. 

Ensure appropriate communication with the relevant persons and organisation and that all resultant files are appropriately kept.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Remuneration and Job Grading

• Advice the wages administrators on legal and industry requirements relating to the administration of hourly paid wage.
• Administering and explaining benefits to employees, serving as liaison between insurance carriers and employees
• Ensure accurate job matching into survey jobs
• Assist with updating and signature of job descriptions annually in alignment with Talent and Performance systems

 Benefits and Leave

• New engagements and processing of medical aid benefits (medical billing) on salaried level
• Provide advice in the implementation and administration of employment benefits such as Provident Fund, Medical Aid
• Leave processing and reporting for all salaried employees
• Death benefits and claims for all employees

 Reward Management Including Reporting and metrics

• Implement annual reward review
• Develop and compile any other ad-hoc reports on reward management data as may be requested from time to time
• Develop and launch relevant non- financial recognition programmes
• Facilitate the implementation of long service awards through developing the policy and ensuring distribution and tracking of awards issued

 Termination Documents for stakeholders / employees  

• UI19s for all employees terminated
• Salary schedules for all terminated employees.
• Certificate of Service for all terminated wage employees
• Any audits on contracts and termination documents / labour and HR audits from dept of labour / bargaining council if applies

Assist HR manager with projects and administration and reporting requirements as and when need arises

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

The HR Officer should have minimum a three-year degree / diploma from an accredited institution (relevant to Human Resources).

South African Labour and Employment Law background and knowledge is essential

Strong experience in all MEIBC related administrative functions from (COIDA, IOD, Claims etc)

Able to work alone on a broad variety of projects.

Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Able to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, creativity to changing needs and situations.

Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work.

Must be able to travel to sites (own car)

Knowledge of Labour law, SA legislation and Acts non-negotiable, inclusive of employment contracts

Knowledge of collective and labour agreements, salary benchmarking and grading systems ( Peromnes / Hay)
