HR Manager (Insurance)

SUMMARY:
We have an Exciting opportunity for a Human Resource Manager in the Insurance sector, East Rand

POSITION INFO:

Reporting to the MD

Objective of the role:

• Contribute to the development of the Human Resources strategy and administer the HR systems as per the business rules of the company.
• Ensure that HR functions proactively and supports the organizations strategy to achieve its overall business objectives.
• Lead, develop and motivate an effective and professional management team.

Key Responsibilities

• Full Human Resources function of the Human Resources Department.
• Maintaining the relationships between management and employee to sustain the principle of being a people centred organization.
• Maintain a positive company culture in all department to ensure optimal and efficient performance.
• Provide HR support to all Departmental Managers.
• Support managers and functional areas with Performance Management processes
• Co-ordinate with the training department on employees training needs.
• Implementing, and support the integration of policies and procedures, and ensuring that policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Recruitment and selection of candidates.
• Draft job specifications and job descriptions
• Responsible for Industrial Relations Compliance in line with the company Code of Conduct, Standards, Basic Conditions of Employment and Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Manage Employment Equity
• Responsible for management and administration of Disciplinary and Grievance processes.
• Manage all dispute resolution referrals CCMA with stakeholder involved.
• Maintain ad Administer HR systems which may include payroll systems
• Manage Leave, Sick Leave, Overtime, Employee loans, HR actions KPA’s and Performance Management on company Human Resources System.
• Provide a monthly HR movement to Finance Department and Executive.
• Full talent acquisition function, onboarding and exit function.
• Due to the nature of the industry, the candidate will work closely with the legal, risk and compliance department.
• Consult with recruitment agencies to identify needs and preferred qualifications
• Interview applicants about their experience, education, and skills
• Contact references and perform background checks
• Inform applicants about job details such as benefits and conditions
• Hire or refer qualified candidates on behalf of recruiting manager
• Conduct new employee orientations
• Process paperwork and ensure workflow is actioned.
• Conducting exit interviews

• Comprehensive Working knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act, Labour Relations Act and Employment Equity Act.

Education, Experience and Pre-requisites

• Completed Bachelors Degree
• Minimum experience of at least 5 years as a Human Resources Manager
• Experience in financial/insurance sector preferable
• Knowledge and clear understanding of Labour Legislation
• Strong Human Resources Generalist experience
• Sage People 300
• Understanding of HR systems
• Valid Driver’s License and own Transport
• Good understanding of Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint

CTC: R35 000 – R50 000 p/m
