Key Purpose:

Learning Designer will be responsible for the curriculum design of courses as well as creating, collating, and revising course material in collaboration with Business owners and Subject Matter Experts, ensuring course design and course materials align with sound pedagogy and learning design principles. The number one responsibility of the Learning Designer is execution of course development and evaluations, with direction from the Learning Designer and Development Team Leader; this will be measured against internal project plans and individual quality metrics.

Key Outputs:

• Work with Learning Design and Development Team leader to design the curriculum for courses, including formulating learning outcomes and recommending appropriate mediums for content delivery and assessment.
• Liaise with Project office, Research and Design, and functional heads in designing learning projects.
• Analyse and translating business needs into creative solutions and design using different methodologies and technologies, such as: Instruction and classroom based programs; Coaching; Experiential interventions; Virtual learning solutions.
• Source and provide easy access to internal and external knowledge sources that will support development.
• Devise modes of  interactive assessments, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of learning solutions
• Training trainers in the deployment of learning solutions.
• Update learning materials.
• Liaise with Project office, Research and Design, and functional heads in designing learning projects.
• Evaluate learning programs in line with business performance
• Collaborate with team members to refine processes and contribute to team and individual development, support the research and testing of new approaches to content development, and contribute to general innovation within the department.
• Assist in addressing design and content-related queries that arise during the presentation of courses.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must have Matric 
• Relevant Tertiary Qualification
• 1-3years experience in instructional design
• Advantageous: Instructional design/ material development qualification
