POSITION INFO:

HR Manager | HR Generalist – Maitland, Cape Town

R30 000 – R40 000 Per Month (with Provident Fund) plus Performance Based Bonus

Global, leading and established engineering solutions firm is in search of a responsible HR professional join their innovative environment and take responsibility for centralising the human resources function within the growing concern by developing and implementing operational HR processes to achieve the goals of the company.

The responsibilities of this position include reviewing of the company policies, recruitment, on-boarding, talent management, payroll administration, operational matters, labour relations, performance management, legislative compliance and HR reporting.

One would describe you as a stable, results driven problem-solver and team player who has good conflict management skills as well as the ability to develop and implement HR business strategies and positively influence others.  You are a highly analytical and solutions driven individual who has the ability to use data and trends to diagnose management concerns.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Resolve problems as they are encountered to ensure achievement against plan.
  • Remain up to date with legislation and the industry in general.
  • Adhere to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures.
  • Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of organisational standards, policies and procedures within span of control and monitor implementation to ensure full compliance.
  • Develop and promote feedback mechanisms for employees to influence the continuous improvement of human resource services.
  • Partner and support line managers to implement end-to-end people management processes and provide day-to-day operational support in the management thereof. This includes and is not limited to talent acquisition, reward and recognition, development, performance-, talent- and change management, with an expertise and a core focus on Industrial Relations.
  • Support identification and development of processes to optimize cost efficiency.
  • Build support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships to ensure achievement of organisational goals.
  • Facilitate end-to-end disciplinary processes in liaison with line management and represent the employer at CCMA on assigned cases.
  • Provide responsive and high-quality support, training and advice to all parts of the business including line managers to ensure the appropriate management of all employee relations issues including in particular change management, grievances, poor performance and disciplinary action.
  • Lead in the continued improvement of the health of the organization by monitoring performance indicators, such as absenteeism levels, grievances levels, disciplinary processes, employee wellbeing matters, development of initiatives and solutions.
  • Representation of the Company at external tribunals (e.g. CCMA, Labour court).
  • Coordinate union meetings with HR and Management and follow up on items raised
  • Facilitate and participate on the employee relations aspects of proposed changes in the organisation.
  • Facilitate wage negotiations.
  • With the assistance of the Payroll Administrator, take full responsibility of the Companies salaried and wages payroll

Minimum Skills and Experience required:

  • Relevant HR Diploma (3 years) / Bachelors Degree in Human Resources / Industrial Psychology / Social Sciences
  • 3-5 Years Human Resources Generalist / HR Manager experience required
  • Experience gained within the Manufacturing / Engineering industry would be advantageous
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office / HR Systems is essential.
  • Proven understanding of labour law and employment equity regulations.
  • Relevant working experience with Unions, in particular with the MEIBC and NUMSA
  • Solid and proven HR administration skills.
  • Proven people management skills.
