HR Generalist -Contract

SUMMARY:
A manufacturing company based in Durban is seeking an HR Generalist on contract for 3 months

POSITION INFO:

You will be reporting to the HR Manager and will be responsible for advising, monitoring and supporting line management with the implementation of HR operational activities and initiatives to achieve the HR Strategy and business objectives.

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Relevant tertiary qualification in HR/ Industrial Psychology
• 5 Years HR/IR Experience
• Manufacturing sector experience
• Knowledge of CCMA and Trade Unions
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong negotiations skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Teamwork

Key Responsibilities:

• Support in ensuring HR policies, procedures and systems are aligned with market trends.
• Ensure effective recruitment, selection and placement service is provided for within the Group
• Provide advice and support to line management in effective performance assessments
• Coordinate the initial induction of all new staff at all levels within the Group
• Develop and maintain competitive plans and strategies to attract and retain high calibre staff
• Provides advice and guidance on effective discipline handling and conducting of enquiries
• Maintain contact with union officials/shop stewards and promote sound relations with unions
• Attend to employee queries and claims related to employee benefits.
• Conduct routine audits on all forms of leave and monitor sick leave to identify sick leave abuse
• Provide advice and counselling to employees and their dependents on employee assistance facilities
• Formulate an integrated employment equity resourcing plan to meet the Group’s objectives
• Submit all legislated BBBEE reports
• Coordinate effective reporting and feedback of EE plans and progress at plant-based EE Forums.
• Coordinate and monitor all compliances with Company, statutory and legal
