We are looking for a talented, passionate, intermediate HR Generalist who is interested in working for a growing, dynamic technology business, where building great software as well as hiring and developing world class people is fundamental to the company''s success. The HR Generalist will have both administrative and some strategic responsibilities, helping us to plan and administer important functions, such as staffing, training and development, and compensation and benefits.

Objectives of this Role 

  • Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations.
  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements.
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience.
  • Ensure legal compliance of the HR functions and apply country specific employment laws (currently UK and SA), and update policies and/or procedures as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the talent acquisition, talent management and recruitment processes.
  • Schedule, facilitate and handle all administrative tasks for new hire onboarding and orientation, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day / first-week experience.
  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters.
  • Assist with monthly payroll and benefit submission as well as yearly skills training submissions (SA).
  • Ensure all HRIS systems as well as Employee records are up to date.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contributes to the development of policies.
  • Help develop and organize training, development, and engagement initiatives.
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and high performing workplace.
  • Gather and analyse data with useful HR metrics (i.e. time to hire, employee turnover rates etc.)
  • Assist with the planning and organization of people management programs.
  • Ensure compliance with labour regulations.

 Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-4 years proven experience working in an HR department.
  • Experience within a fast-growing multi-national tech company is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of UK employment/labour laws, HR procedures and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
  • Be passionate, curious, and self-driven.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving aptitude.
  • A passion for technology, data analytics and innovation with the HR space.
  • An interest in expanding your horizons and learning new skills.
  • Remain up to date on industry trends, HR best practices and standards, employment law updates. Share knowledge among the team.
  • Ability to be upfront, honest and accountable.
  • Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach.

 Nice to have

  • Bachelors degree in HR, business, or a related field.
  • Additional HR training or experience.
  • Knowledge of SA labour law is a plus.
  • Knowledge of diverse HRIS systems.
  • Implementation and facilitation of Employee training and engagement programs.
