SUMMARY:
International leader in the Aviation Industry requires a qualified and passionate HR Generalist to be based at their Midrand Operations.

POSITION INFO:

Key to this position will include the following functions

PAYROLL:

  • Administration of all payroll functions: coordinating, collating and processing of all information including but not limited to new employees, resignations, expense claims, overtime, leave, provident fund and medical aid.
  • Monitor individual employees’ leave accrual/balance and track leave records against employee time and attendance system.
  • Loading of payslips on ESS (Employee Self Service system)
  • Control of overtime and leave with the time and attendance system.
  • Ensure that leave applications are authorized on ESS (Employee Self Service system)
  • Monthly provide the leave balance report and overtime report to HR Executive
  • Conducting follow-ups on payroll queries.
  • Monthly reconciliations of staff loans, medical aid and provident fund contributions.
  • Monitoring of leave accruals/balances and tracking of leave records.

BBBEE:

  • Prepare all paperwork and evidence timeously for the annual BBBEE assessment audit.
  • Identify in conjunction with HR Executive potential Socio Economic Development initiatives.

FILING & ADMIN:

  • Maintain an efficient paper-based and electronic filing system.
  • Ensure that records are accurate, correctly filed and up to date at all times.
  • Ensure timeous processing of all payments to service providers.

BENEFITS ADMIN:

  • Ensure that Provident fund and medical aid applications reach the service provider timeously.
  • Ensure that provident fund salary data is submitted on time to the service provider for payment.

TRAINING:

  • Researching training courses and sourcing of training service providers.
  • Updating training program with scheduled training information ie. Scheduled courses, dates, venues.
  • Ensuring that staff and respective managers are informed timeously of upcoming training
  • Interventions aligned with operational commitments.
  • Maintenance of training certificates on personnel file.
  • Timeous calculation of training spend monthly to update Scientrix monthly (three days prior to the 10th of the month).

WORKPOINTS:

  • Promote and support usage of the Workpoints (Peer to Peer rewards system).
  • Manage the monthly administration of the system (tracking of budget, activating/de-activating members.

STATUTORY REPORTING:

  • Ensure timeous preparation and submission of Workplace skills plan, Annual training report, Employment Equity, Workmen’s compensation, return of earnings submissions.
  • Timeous preparation of tax reconciliations and IRP 5 process.

COMPENSATION COMMISSION:

  • Preparation and on-time submission of Workmen’s Compensation claims.
  • Annual training of staff on Workmen’s compensation process.

EMPLOYMENT EQUITY:

  • Coordinating the activities of the Employment Equity Committee
  • Scheduling Employment Equity meetings (every second month)
  • Scheduling training where needed
  • Drafting and distribution of minutes after Committee meetings
  • Coordinating with Committee members topics that they will feedback to the staff

 

Minimum requirements for this position will include

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with at least 5-7 years experience as an HR Generalist
  • Microsoft Office proficiency intermediate to advanced level  (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook…), SAGE VIP
  • High level of communication skills (both verbal and written English is a must)
  • High level of credibility in the HR field with buy-in from customers
  • Experience and knowledge of compliance
  • Solid experience processing payroll transactions
  • Experience of coordinating Employment Equity Committee activities
