JOB PURPOSE

The Health and Safety Officer is responsible to ensure total compliance to Health and Safety standards in the workplace, office, and sites and that Quality Standards are properly developed, implemented, and managed. The Health and Safety Officer will also supervise and coordinate work systems to ensure that the products and services of the company meet the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe and favourable work environment.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITY

• Ensure total compliance to the Health and Safety Act.
• Developing, implementing, and improving the health and safety plans, programs, and procedures in the company.
• Ensuring compliance with the relevant health and safety legislation and regulations
• Ensure compliance to the Mine Health and Safety Act 
• Advise and instruct on various safety-related topics
• Conduct safety inspections and risk assessment and enforce preventative measures.
• Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation.
• Creating Safety Files for clients.
• Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives.
• Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity 
• Oversee installations, maintenance, disposal of substances etc.
• Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
• Manage, investigate, and record all incidents and accidents to determine causes and handle worker''s compensation claims.
• Awareness training on policies, procedures and safe processes and practices to all staff.
• Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management.
• Management of company safety files.
• Aid in the development and implementation of ISO 45001 standard and certification.
• Perform monthly and annual internal SHEQ audits on all sites and ensure documented results are properly managed

REQUIREMENTS

• Certificate / Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety is a must. 
• 3 - 5 years proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer preferably in the Information Technology industry.
• Valid driver''s lisence. 
• Own reliable car. 
• Knowledge on relevant legislation (OSHA)
• Knowledge on ISO 45001 implementation and Internal auditing
• ISO 9001:2015 understanding and knowledge would be an added advantage

REMUNERATION

R20, 000.00 – R30,000.00 TCTC Pending on experience
