Become a Group Tailings Deputy Manager (Expat Opportunity)

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing tailings and settling ponds across multiple sites. Your duties will include:
Operational Oversight & Reporting
- Conduct QHSE reporting, audits, and risk assessments.
- Communicate tailings facility updates to senior site and corporate management.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation for all tailings storage facilities (TSFs) and water retention dams.
Technical & Geotechnical Responsibilities
- Review and analyze technical data including:
- Piezometer and well readings
- Survey monuments
- Horizontal drain flows
- Weir flows
- Tailings line flow and pressure
- Bathymetric, satellite, and ground surveys
- Identify geotechnical causes of dam failures.
- Explain risk assessment methods and tailings risk acceptability.
- Support the design, construction, and operation of safe tailings facilities.
- Contribute to closure strategies, capping, revegetation, and continuous improvement.
Environmental & Safety Collaboration
- Support environmental teams on water quality, closure planning, and compliance.
- Assist safety teams with safety initiatives and hazard identification.
Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile):
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/Geotechnical) with soil mechanics coursework and minimum 10 years experience
OR - Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering with minimum 10 years experience
- Commercial Driver’s License
- Ability to travel as required
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
- Knowledge of:
- Geotechnical engineering principles
- Hydrologic and civil engineering
- MS Office, AutoCAD, and geotechnical software
