SUMMARY:
The Capital Support Office is recruiting an experienced Group Revenue Manager based at The Capital Support Office in Sandton.

POSITION INFO:

The Capital Hotels and Apartments is the fastest growing hotel group in South Africa and are the leaders and specialists in the extended stay/serviced apartment/apartment hotel sector. We are currently constructing two properties per year. This high paced growth requires ambitious and talented employees and provides such employees with promotional opportunities as they move into our newly constructed properties.

Description:

The Group Revenue Manager is responsible for both strategic and tactical initiatives related to revenue maximization. As a member of the Revenue Management Department, you will have the opportunity to set strategic direction, determine pricing, create promotions, and explore new distribution opportunities.

You will own the implementation of a business plan and product strategy. You will have exposure to senior management and work closely with Sales, Marketing, Trade Support and Services and Reservations.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Manage and maintain group and transient inventory controls
  • Develop, monitor, and adjust sales and pricing strategies
  • Provide critical analysis of strategies, room''s statistics and demand factors
  • Conduct competitive and demand analysis
  • Maintain distribution channel data integrity.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
  • Participate and prepare rolling forecast and annual budget for each property using PMS, and forecasting tools.
  • Ensure that all rooms statistics reports, including the Financial statement, and any other related reports are accurate and consistent
  • Ensure that all systems are maintained including, Electronic channels and GDS.
  • Attend Weekly Sales Meeting to maintain communication of strategies and need periods.
  • In general, perform any other duties that might be requested by Chief of Operations or Managing Director.
  • Perform revenue management service for the Hotel Group.
  • Manage all aspects of rate & inventory management as outlined in the services contract.  
  • Lead the Central Reservations Team, providing direction on revenue management best practices, PMS/CRS/External Yield systems best practices, third party channel best practices.
  • Create and manages the training program of PMS/CRS/External Yield systems/Electronic Channels/Online Channels.
  • Prepare training materials, training schedules, and systems training for the team members.

Additional Requirements:

  • Diploma in Hotel Management or similar
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years’ experience of which at least 3 to 4 years in similar role
  • Strong Operational/Technical Knowledge
  • Strong Leadership abilities and organizational skills, thinks out of the box and able to drive change and look for operational efficiencies / synergies
  • Hands-on problem-solving approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Customer service driven with outstanding communication and active listening skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Honest and trustworthy beyond approach
  • Great attention to detail
  • Presentable/Professional appearance and well spoken
  • Team Player who leads by example
  • Proactive in approach
