Job and Company description:

My client provides a comprehensive range of specialist financial products and services for Business and Wealth clients. Service excellence with innovative financial solutions to assist businesses to bank is a cornerstone of the company’s endeavors. They have regionals offices and offices based in Asia with the aim of expansion. The incumbent can be a newly qualified CA(SA) or a more experienced accountant with a B.Com degree and completed SAICA articles. Consolidations, Budgets and Reconciliations will be some of the main duties. The ability to deal with large volumes will be a key factor for success.

As Group Financial Accountant you will be responsible for:

Perform reconciliations of intercompany debtors
Prepare certain reports to the regulatory team
Assist with annual budgeting process, assisting with annual budgeting process for Group and all related entities leading to full reporting and presentation of all budgets
Reconcile balance sheet accounts
Prepare monthly accounting journals
Implement audit recommendations
Reconcile the fixed asset register
Analyze actual to budget variances and provide line management with feedback and details, and corrective action where required
Assist with preparing year end ‘Audit Packs’ for reporting to Group and auditors
Assist in the preparation of the Annual Financial Statements for the Group and its subsidiaries
Authorisation of weekly and monthly payments
Drive reconciliation of monthly salary clearing accounts
Design, implement and evaluate internal financial controls
Analyze actual to budget variances and provide line management with feedback and details, and take corrective action where needed
Implementation of procedures and processes to ensure effective functioning and accounting of all fixed assets and intangible assets
Work closely with the technical accounting team to advise on accounting treatment in terms of IFRS standards for any new and existing transactions across the Group

Job Experience and Skills Required:

B.Com Degree with 2 years’ working experience
SAICA Articles advantageous
Financial services experience an advantage
IFRS Standards
