My client is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced temp on a month to month basis. Qualifications required: • BCompt/BAcc or similar (at least Accounting 3 and Auditing 2) • Completed Articles (SAICA/SAIPA/SAIBA or similar)

POSITION INFO:

Group Financial Accountant – (Reporting to The Group Financial Manager)
As a crucial member of the finance team, the role of the Group Financial Accountant is to support the Group Financial Manager by overseeing and executing day-to-day functions within the Finance Department. To provide insights and financial advises that will equip the team to make best business decisions for the company.
Maintain financial records, create, and analyse reports, ensure legal requirements adherence.
Implement internal controls, recommend BEST practice.
Collecting, interpreting, and reviewing of financial information
Assisting with forecasting and budgeting
Producing of financial reports related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, forecasting, budgeting, monthly and other trading results, as required.
Analysing of costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, cand company’s actual performance against expected results. Suggest corrective measures to mitigate variation if not favourable.
Oversee and manage the functions: Group Accounts Receivable; Group Accounts Payable; Group Finance Administrator
Ensure that internal customer – centric objectives are met (organisation specific). This is to ensure that finance department assists and provides service to internal departments across the Group.
Ensure that the Group accounting records are up to date at all times. This will include (inter alia) that sub-ledgers are in balance, cross company loan and trade accounts are balanced on an ongoing basis.
Compilation and presentation of management accounts for all group companies on a monthly basis
Staff training – objective is to ensure that staff are continuously able to perform the tasks assigned to them so as to ensure that they are able to meet the organisation’s overall objectives.
Continuously drive improvements in internal control systems and recommend BEST practices.
Management of working capital
Maintain and assist in developing of financial policies for all companies.
Understand and adhere to financial records and legislation.
VAT submissions; reconciliations
Prepare year-end audit files.
Assist with stock – take.
Liaise with auditors, bankers as required.
