Group Credit Manager

SUMMARY:
Group Credit Manager – R30k/month – Permanent – Epping (Cape Town) – Immediate start – Open to all

POSITION INFO:

Our well-established client in Epping is looking for a Group Credit Manager to join their team.  The purpose of this job is to lead and control the Credit Department in such a manner that the team members will be able to deliver superior customer service on time and efficiently, as well as to achieve specific goals and targets.  This includes evaluating the performance of team members and the efficiency of processes, as well as daily problem solving. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

To manage, monitor and report on the collections function within the team.

Manage the data integrity of customer master files

Ensure that the lead-time for new account applications are met.

Ensure that agreed-to collections targets are met.

Follow-up and sign off monthly journal reports

Facilitate the correct application of credit policy.

Manage the pending order process

Manage telephone statistics

Actively monitor and improve customer service by following up on customer satisfaction surveys for primary, secondary and internal customers.

Prepare and facilitate team meetings

Conduct performance appraisals of team members.

Train team members in procedures and workplace practises

Support team members with problem solving.

Participate in the appointment of team members.

Maintain and encourage synergy with other departments

Conflict handling, negotiation & resolution skills

Attention to detail, accurate & precise

Planning & coordinating ad hoc projects

Bilingual in Afrikaans and English

Ability to stay calm & focused within a pressurized working environment

Customer service orientated

Assertive

Flexible and open towards change

Supportive with a friendly disposition and high level of integrity

Problem solving

Good communication Skills – oral & written

Qualifications:

Credit management 3

Bachelor’s degree in the commercial field

4-5 years previous working experience in a debt collection environment

Knowledge of trade and commerce environment

3 years’ experience in a credit management role

SAGE X3 ERP essential
