Graphic Designer/CAD Artist

SUMMARY:
Designer (Fashion) required for a 5-month maternity leave contract within the clothing industry. Contract from June to October.

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

• Determining the size of the print using print markers when print gets approved
• Technical Drawing(TD) of garments for costing purposes
• Doing cads to send off to buyer (this is just the coloured up TD with details eg price/fabric/age group/season/description/customer)
• Rotary artworks - creating the direct repeat for all over prints and exporting for printing purposes
• Redrawing/ Creating artworks from briefs given by coordinators

 

Criteria:

• Be proficient in CorelDraw or Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop or equivalent.
• All garments are screen-printed, embroidered or have all over prints
• Have a good sense of proportion and follow up placements and printing quality of prints
• Preferable experience with chain store garments
• Have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the clothing industry
• Designer with experience in creating cads and print artworks for clothing industry.
• Have an eye for fashion, colour and trends and be able to interpret the buyers specifications.
• Must be able to work off a brief and follow the specifications.
• To work timeously and meet daily deadlines
• Must have own transport to Kloof.
