Graphic Designer

SUMMARY:

Our client, a travel agency based in Century City, Cape Town, is looking for a super talented and dedicated mid- to senior Graphic Designer with a strong graphic design background to support their creative team.  You will build and be part of a world-class marketing design and creative team.

POSITION INFO:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Provide marketing support work that will include preparation marketing materials in web, print, and video formats
• Provide general graphic design for projects
• Monitor and maintain social media accounts
• Work closely with various departments and assist with presentations, brochures, photography, and content creation
• Have a good understanding of graphics, Adobe Creative Suite products, and social media

Duties

• Design web pages, brochures, logos, signs, rate sheets, brochures, travel presentations, content / advertisements, email campaigns and other communication materials
• Create these materials by hand or by using technology, including computer software programs. Adobe''s Creative Suite—including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
• Creates and maintains sales support materials including point of purchase and tradeshow displays
• Meet with clients to gain an understanding of what they want their proposed communications to look like. Create or incorporate illustrations, pictures, and designs to reflect the desired theme and tone of the communications
• Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule
• Establish creative direction for the company as well as brand guidelines
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications and budget restrictions
• Perform retouching and manipulation of images
• Collaborate with all departments and other stakeholders to plan, on building sales materials, catalogues, social media collateral, and other materials to properly execute assigned projects and tell each brands story

Education and Experience Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
• Experience as a graphic designer or in related field
• Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
• Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
• A strong eye for visual composition
• Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Able to give and receive constructive criticism
• Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design
• Experience in B2B marketing
• Working experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
