SUMMARY:
Senior Repro and Graphic Artist required to join Manufacturer based in Ballito.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Requirements:

Minimum 10 year’s experience in Repro and Graphic design.
Experienced in preparing artwork for Litho printing.
Experience working in the Printing Industry would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

Ranging of artwork for each season.
Artwork conception.
Product artwork.
Packaging Artwork.
Dyelines.
Preparing Product and Packaging artwork to print ready standards.
Inhouse Photography.
Managing Product Sampling.
Managing Artwork Sampling materials and supplies.
Rendering product designs using existing render and digital mockup software.
Creating company product catalogues.
Preparing Company promotional material.
Preparing Product planograms/in shelf renders and displays.
Managing Colour standards and swatches.
Pre-print signoffs.
Creating Print job bags for Litho print operator.
Manage Print proof sign offs.
Facilitate Actual Print sign offs.
Ordering of Printing plates.

Specific tasks

Generating packaging and Product artwork.
Generating packaging and Product artwork based on design briefs and purchased stock files/designs.
Creating Dyelines for product and packaging.
Ordering Cutting-Dyes for print department.
Managing and creating printing schemes for best printing yield according to paper size.
Rendering all product designs using render/mockup software for presentations to clients and catalogues.
Physically Sampling approved packaging and designs.
Photography of sampled products.
Photography of product contents.
Manage the colour drawdown process with ink suppliers.
Prepare all selected artwork to a print ready stage.
Manage artwork signoff procedure.
Manage preprint signoffs.
Manage on-press print sign offs.
Check all artwork according to the specifications and checklist verifying that all is correct.
Order printing plates for Litho printing.
Generate product catalogues.
Generate marketing material.
Create company mailers for sales administrator.

Knowledge areas

Extremely Proficient in all Adobe creative cloud programs:
- Illustrator
- Indesign
- Photoshop
Proficient in CAD programs for Dyeline creation.
Competent in preparing artwork for lithographic printing.
Experienced in using render and digital mockup techniques.
Technically very strong.
Competent Photography skills.
Strong time management skills.
Well versed in preparing artwork for lithographic printing.
Understanding of commercial printing equipment, papers and inks.
