Geologist

SUMMARY:
Our client, a leader in the Mining Industry, has an opportunity available for a Geologist in the Burgersfort area.

POSITION INFO:
Education and Experience Requirements:

• BSc Honours degree in Geology is essential
• Minimum of 3 years mining geology related working experience, preferably in a conventional narrow reef mining environment is essential
• High level of computer literacy, inclusive of specialized programmes i.e. Cadsmine, MicroStation etc.
• Registration as a "candidate scientist" at SACNASP will be preferable
• Valid medical certificate or be medical fit in order to obtain such a certificate
• Must have geological report writing skills
• Knowledge of electronic data capture (SABLE)
• Bushveld geology and project management knowledge
• Knowledge of GIS systems and array methods

KPAs:

• Scientifically identify and forecast ore body/mineral reserves and formations per geological area
• Ensure effective/value-adding geological modelling is maintained, inclusive of forecast updates
• Facilitate integrated participation in the planning and geological exploration of new mining areas
• Constantly monitor geological conditions to ensure efficient, economical and progressive mining
• Guide and manage the geological function of an operating unit, inclusive of managing grade control observes and contractors effectively
• Compile standardized geological reports for management information purposes
• Effectively manage underground core drilling operations
