SUMMARY:
General Manager: Operations – Durban

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications & Competencies Required:

ØBachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant qualification.
ØAt least 5 years Road Transport / Warehouse Operations experience at management level.
ØExcellent communication skills.
ØMust have good understanding of financial and statistics.
ØBe an analytical and technical person.
ØProject Management skills will be essential.
ØTaking ownership and leading the operational activities of the Company.
ØParticipating in commercial strategy, sales and marketing activities.

 

Key Accountabilities:

ØTo manage and oversee the KwaZulu-Natal regional operations consisting of line-haul fleet and warehouse applications.
ØEnsure that the regional operation achieves all targets namely, required revenue, monthly km production targets, depot turn-around times, year on year growth, PBIT, ROIC etc.
ØTo ensure optimal planning of warehousing.
ØTo ensure sustainability of the regional operation.
ØEnsure that facilities (workshops) and equipment are maintained and in good working order.
ØBuild and maintain sound relationships with market in this region.
ØEnsure that the company meets all SHEQ/HSE, Safety, Quality and on time delivery requirements of our customers.
ØInvolved with all project’s costings.
ØEnsure that follow up project’s audits are undertaken to ensure any potential problems are highlighted and rectified.
ØAttend company’s monthly management meeting and will report on achievements, problems / challenges, volumes, efficiencies, and opportunities.
ØEnsure that the company is providing our customer with a cost effective, reliable and quality service.
ØPerform various other duties and activities as assigned by management.
