General Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client in Orlando, Soweto is looking to employ a General Manager for their Events/Financial Services/Retail operation.

POSITION INFO:

This position is strictly EE. We are looking for a deadline-driven, energetic person with solid communication skills. Immediate start preferred. Must be resident around Johannesburg South area.

The successful candidate will oversee the managers and operational processes of 3 divisions, and report to the directors of the company. They will be responsible for strategy and operational execution for the success of the business.

Main responsibilities:

Responsible for governance and compliance of business operations based on various legislations.

Assists with preparation and review of annual budgets including forecasts working together with the CEO, Financial Manager and other relevant departments.

Active member of senior management groups and other forums.

Represent the company to major external stakeholders and professional associations.

Develops and monitors quality business reports.

Conducts monthly, quarterly, interim and annual reviews with all departments.

Manages Service Level Agreements (SLA) with all internal departments for seamless business

execution.

Coordinates and support various business programmes and the execution thereof.

Provides appropriate leadership and direction to the management team at all times.

Manage, mentor and coach senior staff members and allocates projects to teams were applicable.

Ensures the team is fully equipped and receives training when needed for continuous development.

Abides, advocates and ensures the team upholds company values, mission, vision and Human Resources policies and procedures at all times.

Maintains team discipline and manages employee relations matters according to the legislation to mitigate risk.

Always communicates company goals and strategy.

Minimum requirements:

Degree in Business Management or related qualification.

FAIS Compliant (RE1 and RE5) will be advantageous.

Minimum five years’ experience at management level preferably in Financial Services.

Experience in managing various operational departments for efficient business execution.

Proven senior management, administration and office management experience.

Attention to detail

Excellent communication skills, written and spoken

Good customer service

Salary is R30 000 CTC per month negotiable on experience.
