General Foreman

Purpose of this General Foreman role: Organises and controls both workers and plant under his control. Works to a prescribed programme and sequence of work agreed between himself and his superior.

Reports to: Site Manager
Liaises with: Contracts Managers, Safety Officer, Procurement, subcontractors, suppliers, HR, other stakeholders
Supervises: Foreman, Junior Foreman, Chargehands, General Workers, Subcontractors, Suppliers

Required Education: 

• National Certificate in Construction Supervision (NQF4)
• Matric and relevant trade certificate
• Legal Liability
• Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment
• Working at Heights
• Scaffold Erector and Inspector

Required Work Experience:
10-15 Years Relevant Experience

• Technical knowledge eg. concrete structures, wet and finishing trades
• Setting Out
• Concrete Techniques, SCT 10, 20 (if Structural)
• Mortar, Plaster and Screed, SCT 13 (If Wet trades or Finishes)
• Management Skills
• Setting Out - Use of a dumpy level and theodolite
