GROUP STEEL BUYER – GERMISTON

SUMMARY:
Our client a leading national supplier of steel and tube requires an experienced steel buyer to join a dynamic team. Candidates who have experience in other industries will not be considered for the position.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 / equivalent
• A completed diploma in purchasing will be an added advantage

Experience and Requirements:

• Steel Mill Buying experience - at least 5-10 years (this is not negotiable)
• Experience buying of steel locally and internationally (not negotiable)
• Advanced skills: Excel (spreadsheets, Formulas and V Lookup) and Syspro
• Knowledge and experience in imports and exports
• Knowledge of the South African local and international steel markets
• Setting up of pricing structures
• Strong personality
• Strong negotiating skills
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Must reside on the East Rand (Gauteng Province)
• Reliable transport
• A stable work record and have contactable references
