SUMMARY:
A wholesales and retail company requires an experienced DIY and Industrial Hardware Buyer to join their dynamic team. The Ideal candidate must have recent working experience within a large hardware retail and wholesale environment with more than 10 branches.

POSITION INFO:

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 / equivalent
  • A completed degree or diploma in purchasing

Experience and requirements:

  • 5 or more years’ recent experience as a Buyer within a large organisation with more than 10 branches
  • Advanced computer skills on Syspro (or a related ERP System) and Excel
  • Reside on the East Rand
  • Have reliable transport
  • Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
  • A stable work record and contactable references
  • Sound product knowledge: Industrial Hardware and DIY related products
  • Able to work independently and under pressure
  • Strong buying, sourcing, and negotiating skills
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with admin related duties
  • Set and control budgets and targets per supplier
  • Conduct market research
  • Negotiate rebates
  • Deal with queries (investigate and solve)
