GROUP FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT – ON CONTRACT

Located East Rand. 

United States Multinational has a vacancy for a Group Financial Accountant “on contract” with a possibility to become permanent and will be based at their South African Corporate Head Office.  There are 8 Manufacturing & Engineering Subsidiaries with a turnover in the region of R2.5 billion and as in many multinationals, the local Head Office reports directly to the USA Holding Company.  The local Corporate Office is small and the candidate will be reporting directly to the equivalent of the Group Financial Executive who is situated there.  Each of the Subsidiaries have a Financial Manager with their own financial department and reports their figures directly to the SA Corporate Office.  The key objective is to generate and maintain the financial reporting to meet the reporting requirements for both the SA Holding Company and ultimate Holding Company in USA.  This includes statutory reporting and monthly group reporting operations.  He will support the Group Financial Executive in all areas of financial accounting, tax and reporting.

Key performance areas, inter alia, include:         

• Manage expense recharges to operations via Syspro
• Prepare monthly balance sheet recons and schedules
• Liaise with the Subsidiaries to collect all information timeously
• Be involved in maintaining reporting and tax workbooks
• Prepare monthly forecasts for the Group office as well as the foreign payments
• Reconcile all inter-Company transactions in the Group via Hyperion and resolve all variances
• Prepare Group Accounts using Hyperion as well as all Divisional Accounts and resolve variances
• Compile Debtors Reporting for USA Holding Company
• Accounting, Budgeting and Reporting for local Head Office
• Group daily, weekly and monthly cash position reports as well as managing Group cash position including bank liaison
• Assist with maintaining and improving internal controls for the Group and oversee Hyperion Reporting for the Group
• Ad hoc projects and reports as required by the local Head Office or Corporate Office in USA.

Requirements:

• B Comm or similar and ideally completed Articles with 3 to 5 years commercial experience at a Corporate Head Office
• Up to date with IFRS and tax knowledge
• Competent in consolidations and group reporting as well as financial accounting (ideally using Syspro although this is flexible)
• Must have in-depth Hyperion experience as well as advanced Excel
• Attention to detail, accurate, deadline driven and good communication skills.
