Family and General Practitioner
SOMERSET WEST
An established multi-disciplinary medical practice in Somerset West is looking for a qualified General Practitioner. The ideal candidate would need to preform GP duties within the practice in a professional and ethical manner. The candidate will also need to be available to do locum work at a multi-disciplinary subacute and rehabilitation facility.
REQUIREMENTS
- Medical degree
- HPCSA registration
- Previous experience as a GP
(1-3 years preferably)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all primary healthcare patients referred to by other providers.
- Initiate and analyse treatment plans.
- Conduct medical interviews with new patients and preform basic health examinations.
- Explain and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
- Monitor patient progress and response to treatments.
- Diagnose and manage chronic disease patients (in accordance with the designated scheme rules and protocols).
- Refer patients to other providers (where appropriate)
- Tele-consult with patients when necessary.
