JOB DESCRIPTION:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be up-to-date with relevant grant opportunities.
Apply for relevant grants.
Apply for institutional funding from relevant corporations and foundations.
Network and engage with relevant philanthropic organisations and individuals about their organisation and its aims and projects.
Spokesperson for the organisation when needed.
Support the Managing Director with funding related reporting activities to key internal and external stakeholders.
Set up mechanisms to ensure individual donations are easy to do when individuals engage with their organisation at an event or online (ie: social media or website).
Develop a corporate pitch and actively pursue corporate funding opportunities.
Constant and effective donor/funder reporting as required by donors.
Constant and effective donor/funder management and communications in accordance with the MD or separately where needed.

COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR THE ROLE:

Degree/Diploma in Business Management and/or Nature/Sustainability related studies.
Minimum 5 years professional experience with fundraising.
Strong interpersonal skills and strong team player.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Strong affinity with Conservation and/or Sustainability.
Proficient in English spoken and written, and preferably fluency in Afrikaans would be a plus.
