JOB DESCRIPTION:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Be up-to-date with relevant grant opportunities.
  • Apply for relevant grants.
  • Apply for institutional funding from relevant corporations and foundations.
  • Network and engage with relevant philanthropic organisations and individuals about their organisation and its aims and projects.
  • Spokesperson for the organisation when needed.
  • Support the Managing Director with funding related reporting activities to key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Set up mechanisms to ensure individual donations are easy to do when individuals engage with their organisation at an event or online (ie: social media or website).
  • Develop a corporate pitch and actively pursue corporate funding opportunities.
  • Constant and effective donor/funder reporting as required by donors.
  • Constant and effective donor/funder management and communications in accordance with the MD or separately where needed.
 
COMPETENCIES, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR THE ROLE:
  • Degree/Diploma in Business Management and/or Nature/Sustainability related studies.
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience with fundraising.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and strong team player.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Strong affinity with Conservation and/or Sustainability.
  • Proficient in English spoken and written, and preferably fluency in Afrikaans would be a plus.
