POSITION INFO:

Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Freight Forwarding Branch Manager to oversee the operations and profitability of their branch (Only applicants with relevant experience in the freight forwarding industry will be considered). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the freight forwarding industry and will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all branch activities while driving growth and maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Branch Operations Management:
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring all processes and procedures are followed to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
• Monitor and manage branch performance, including financials, operational KPIs, and customer service standards.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
• Implement and maintain best practices to optimize branch operations and drive continuous improvement.
• Business Development and Client Management:
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the branch's client base and increase revenue.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
• Work closely with the sales team to develop and execute strategies for client retention and growth.
• Act as the primary point of contact for high-level client interactions, resolving any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
• Team Leadership and Development:
• Lead, mentor, and develop the branch team, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
• Manage staff performance, including setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and implementing development plans.
• Ensure that all team members are trained and equipped with the necessary skills to perform their roles effectively.
• Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and excellence within the branch.
• Financial Management:
• Prepare and manage the branch budget, ensuring financial targets are met and costs are controlled.
• Analyze financial reports and make informed decisions to improve profitability and reduce operational expenses.
• Monitor cash flow, credit control, and debt management to ensure the financial health of the branch.
• Report on financial performance to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure the branch operates in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with branch operations, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Oversee audits and inspections, ensuring any issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business Management, Logistics, or a related field are preferred.
