Freight Forwarder

POSITION INFO:

Main Purpose:
The control and monitoring of clients import cargo prior to arrival, throught the customs process until delivery to the clientnominated delivery point.

Job Requirements:

• Code 08 license (unendorsed)
• Grade 12 (Matric)
• 2 years freight forwarding experience
• Candidate to have sound knowledge of import clearing work in ZA.
• MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook

Duties:

• Will be required to pass landing orders and spending time at the port after hours / weekend if required
• Must be able to work long hours when required
• Ability to work within time constraints and make own decisions
• Punctuality and time management skills are essential to this posiions
• Ability to meet targets and deadlines
• Paying atention to details and dealing with errors promptly
• Own reliable transportation to and from work
• Ability to build relationships with clients and suppliers
• Ability to resolve queries from clients
• Ability to control the operations process with reference to your clients shipments
• Problem solving and system analysis
• Administrative duties, checking pods and closing off files wihin the prescribed time
• Client liaison telephonically and in person
• Sending out client status reports daily, reports must be accurate
• Adding charges and notes on Cargo Wise 1. this must be done accruately providing accurate feedback on Cargo Wise reports
